Professional Cue Control for QLab 5
StageQ Remote 5 is an independent iPhone application designed for theatre sound engineers, show operators, and live performance technicians. The app allows you to remotely control QLab 5 on your Mac using OSC communication over a local network.
Getting Started
1. Connect to the same network
Connect your iPhone and the Mac running QLab 5 to the same local Wi-Fi network.
2. Configure QLab 5
Open QLab 5 on your Mac and navigate to:
Workspace Settings → Network → OSC Access
Under No Passcode, enable the following permissions:
- View
- Edit
- Control
For security, use this configuration only on a trusted local network.
3. Connect StageQ Remote 5
Open StageQ Remote 5 on your iPhone. Enter the local IP address of the Mac running QLab 5 and allow local network access when prompted.
Main Features
- Remote GO and cue playback control
- Current and next cue information
- Playback volume adjustment
- STOP ALL function
- Return to the first cue
- Audio level visualization using the iPhone microphone
Troubleshooting
Unable to connect to QLab
- Verify that both devices are on the same local network.
- Check that the Mac's IP address is correct.
- Make sure QLab 5 is running and OSC access is enabled.
- Check the No Passcode permissions in QLab.
- Make sure StageQ Remote 5 has permission to access the local network in iOS Settings.
- Check whether your firewall or network settings are blocking communication.
Controls are not responding
Check the OSC access permissions and make sure the correct QLab workspace is open.
Connection lost
Check the Wi-Fi connection and reconnect to the Mac if necessary.
